Fork Township Sanitary District’s primary mission is to provide water service to the Wayne County residents between the city to the east, Johnson County to the west, Neuse River to the south, and Little River to the north.  The district also has a water main that runs from the Wayne/Lenoir county line in the Eastern Wayne and Belfast community back to Fork Township. Currently we service around 5,000 customers.

Cut off day for August is Tuesday September 1, 2026 at 8:30am.

Notice of Special Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the Fork Township Sanitary District Board will hold a Special Meeting at the District Office located at 825 Rosewood Rd, Goldsboro, NC, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 7:00pm. The purpose of this meeting will be to approve the hiring of a new employee who will work with the current District Manager to learn and educate himself with regard to the facilities and operations of the District in order to take over as the District Manager immediately following the retirement of Glenn Kennedy on Friday, October 30, 2026 and approve an Employment Contract along with any other actions that may be necessary in connection with the hiring.

On September 9, 2026 we will be having our yearly burnout in some of our District where we will be switching from chlorine to chloramines and will switch back October 21, 2026. Not all will be affected by this.
