Fork Township Sanitary District’s primary mission is to provide water service to the Wayne County residents between the city to the east, Johnson County to the west, Neuse River to the south, and Little River to the north.  The district also has a water main that runs from the Wayne/Lenoir county line in the Eastern Wayne and Belfast community back to Fork Township. Currently we service around 5,000 customers.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Finance Officer for Fork Township Sanitary District has submitted a proposed Operating Budget in the amount of $4,316,162.71 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027, to the District Manager and the Fork Township Sanitary District Board at the regular Meeting of the Board held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. The proposed Operating Budget includes recommended increases in the water and sewer rates as well as an increase in tap fees based on the current increase in material costs. A public hearing will be held on the proposed Budget, including the rate increases, as required by NCGS 159-12(b) at the next regular meeting of the Board on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 7:00 o’clock p.m. at the Fork Township Sanitary District office located at 825 Rosewood Rd, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27530. Anyone interested in looking at the proposed Budget prior to the hearing may do so at the Water District Office during regular office hours.
