Fork Township Sanitary District’s primary mission is to provide water service to the Wayne County residents between the city to the east, Johnson County to the west, Neuse River to the south, and Little River to the north.  The district also has a water main that runs from the Wayne/Lenoir county line in the Eastern Wayne and Belfast community back to Fork Township. Currently we service around 5,000 customers.

Cut off day for May will be Thursday May 29th at 8:30 am.

Our treatment plant will be convert from a chloraminated distribution system to a free chlorine distribution system beginning on May 7, 2025 for a period of six weeks. We will convert back to a chloraminated system on June 18, 2025. The areas that will be affected will be NC Hwy 581 S to Hwy 70 W down to the stop light at McDonald’s, Rosewood Rd at Rosewood Baptist Church down to Old Smithfield Rd and back to O’Berry Center Rd.
