Fork Township Sanitary District’s primary mission is to provide water service to the Wayne County residents between the city to the east, Johnson County to the west, Neuse River to the south, and Little River to the north. The district also has a water main that runs from the Wayne/Lenoir county line in the Eastern Wayne and Belfast community back to Fork Township. Currently we service around 5,000 customers.
Cut off day for September is September 30, 2026 at 8:30am.
On September 9, 2026 we will be having our yearly burnout in some of our District where we will be switching from chlorine to chloramines and will switch back October 21, 2026. Not all will be affected by this.
NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
NOTICE is hereby given that the Fork Township Sanitary District Board will hold a Special Meeting at the District Office located at 825 Rosewood Rd, Goldsboro, NC, on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 6:00pm. The purpose of this meeting will be to hold a closed session to meet with and interview applicants for the position of District Manager, which position will be vacated upon the retirement of the current District Manager, Glenn Kennedy, effective October 31, 2026. The Board also reserves the right to take any further action following the interviews that may be deemed necessary and appropriate in closed or open session with regard to filling the position.
